Bock Villányi Royal Cuvée 2019
"Fit for royalty, crafted for connoisseurs"
HK$290.00
The Story
The Royal Cuvée is Bock's most prestigious red wine — a blend of four noble varieties that represents the absolute best of the estate's production. The name pays homage to the royal tradition of Hungarian winemaking, which has served kings and emperors for centuries. This wine is aged for an extended period in new French and Hungarian oak barrels, developing extraordinary complexity and age-worthiness.
Winery History
The Bock family has been growing vines in Villány since 1850. József Bock was named Hungary's Winemaker of the Year in 1997. The cellar produces over one million bottles annually from 150 hectares of prime Villány vineyard land. Villány shares the same latitude as Bordeaux, earning it the nickname 'the Hungarian Bordeaux'.
Appearance: Crimson tending toward deep garnet, intense and opaque.
Nose: Opulent and layered — overripe dark fruit, sweet spices (cinnamon, clove), vanilla, and dark chocolate, with a complex mineral and earthy undertone.
Palate: Full-bodied, rich, and velvety. Concentrated dark fruit with perfectly integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and a luxurious, almost silky texture.
Finish: Extraordinarily long — a finish of dark fruit, sweet spice, and fine oak that lingers for minutes.
