Vida Szekszárdi Estve Cuvée 2014
"The evening star of Szekszárd"
HK$120.00
The Story
'Estve' means 'evening' in old Hungarian — and this cuvée is designed for those long, contemplative evenings when only a wine of real depth and complexity will do. Péter Vida's most ambitious blend brings together the best of Szekszárd's noble varieties: the structure of Cabernet Franc, the spice of Kékfrankos, the richness of Merlot, and the unique character of the indigenous Kadarka grape. The 2014 vintage has had over a decade of graceful development in bottle.
Winery History
Péter Vida is one of Szekszárd's most respected winemakers, bringing a meticulous single-vineyard approach to Hungary's traditional Bull's Blood heartland.
Appearance: Deep ruby-garnet with excellent depth.
Nose: Complex and inviting — dark cherry, plum, blackberry, dried herbs, and a distinctive spicy, earthy quality from the Kadarka and Kékfrankos.
Palate: Full-bodied and structured with firm tannins and vibrant acidity. Multi-layered dark fruit with spice, herbs, and a mineral backbone.
Finish: Long, complex, and satisfying — a finish that evolves and changes in the glass.
