Apatsagi Pannonhalmi Tricollis White

"A thousand years of monastic wisdom in every glass"

HK$105.00

The Story

The name 'Tricollis' — Latin for 'three hills' — honours the three vineyard slopes that surround the Pannonhalma Archabbey: Tavaszó, Babszökő, and Széldomb. These hillside vineyards, cultivated by Benedictine monks for over a millennium, produce grapes of extraordinary character. The white blend is a testament to the monks' belief that the finest wines emerge from harmony — between varieties, between vintages, and between man and nature.

Winery History

The Benedictine Archabbey of Pannonhalma was founded in 996 AD and is one of Hungary's oldest and most sacred institutions, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Winemaking has been central to monastic life here for over 1,000 years. After Communist-era confiscation, the Abbey revived its viticultural tradition in the 1990s, opening its modern winery to visitors in 2004.

Appearance: Pale gold with delicate green highlights, crystal clear.

Nose: Elegant and floral — honeysuckle, jasmine, fresh citrus blossom, and white peach, with a subtle mineral undertone of wet stone.

Palate: Crisp and refreshing with medium body. Notes of ripe pear, yellow apple, melon, and grapefruit, supported by lively acidity and a fine mineral thread.

Finish: Clean, bright, and persistent — a long, refreshing finish with lingering citrus and floral notes.
